Bennett J. Johnson III Joins PFM’s Chicago Office as Senior Managing Consultant
Chicago, IL – The PFM Group has announced that Bennett J. Johnson III recently joined the firm’s Financial Advisory practice in the Chicago office as a Senior Managing Consultant. Mr. Johnson’s primary focus will be in the areas of client development, project management, and financial analysis in Chicago and the Midwest region.
Bennett Johnson brings over 13 years of experience in municipal finance and new business development to his position at PFM. He served for a total of 4-1/2 years in the City of Chicago’s Office of Budget & Management and its Department of Finance. As Budget Director from July 2007-December 2008, he was responsible for preparing and executing the City’s annual operating budget and capital budget as well as leading the City’s performance management sessions. He championed the stabilization of revenues and significant cost reduction during the downturn of 2008, and managed scarce resources to help close the City’s budget deficits.
Immediately prior to joining PFM, Mr. Johnson was a Principal with the Electronic Knowledge Interchange Company, where he established the firm’s New York office and in challenging economic times, helped the company achieve its best year ever. As a Managing Director for A.C. Advisory/Alta Capital Group from 2003-2007, he facilitated documentation, pricing, and closing for over $34 billion of municipal bond issues.

Bennett J. Johnson III is a graduate of Harvard University, and holds a Master’s Degree from the London School of Economics. He has served on numerous community boards, and has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
