Ready for Hillary Black Americans Program Announces 8-City Rollout for Black History Month

0

The national grassroots organization Ready for Hillary marked Black History Month with the official launch of its Black Americans program, a national effort to engage and mobilize the black community around a potential Hillary Clinton candidacy. The program will build upon many of the successful strategies implemented during the 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns including organizing with barbershops and beauty salons, small businesses, DJs, nightclub promoters, and civic organizations.

Last week, Congressman Cedric Richmond (LA-2) joined a growing list of members of the Congressional Black Caucus, black state representatives and black mayors when we he announced his support for a 2016 Hillary Clinton Presidential run.

Quentin James, Ready for Hillary’s Black Americans Director, said, “In 2012, we saw black voters casting ballots at a higher rate than their counterparts for the first time. To continue this trend, we are engaging this community now for the 2014 mid-term elections and a potential Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign.”

The PAC has events scheduled throughout the month in Atlanta, GA; Baltimore, MD; Cleveland, OH; Columbia, SC; Las Vegas, NV; Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; and Washington, DC to rollout its organizing efforts. Later this month, Ready for Hillary will announce a National Black Americans Advisory Council including individuals from throughout the nation who will assist in its efforts working in the black community.
