Legendary Actress, Glenn Close, Delivers in Lee Daniels’ New Horror Thriller, The Deliverance
By Edrea Davis – I have to admit, I love Glenn Close. From Fatal Attraction to Hillbilly Elegy, her acting range is amazing, and she did not disappoint in Lee Daniels’ new Netflix horror movie, The Deliverance.
Based loosely on a true story, the film follows Ebony, played by Andra Day, a mother who moves her family into a new home, only to be terrorized by disturbing paranormal forces. Glenn Close portrays the her mom sassy mom, Alberta.
Joining the cast is Caleb McLaughlin, best known from Stranger Things, who plays the eldest son, and actress and comedian, Mo’Nique, who plays Cynthia Henry, a DCS social worker. Omar Epps plays Close’s possible love interest. The movie manages to blend supernatural horror with emotional drama, as Ebony fights not only external demons but the ones threatening her family’s bond.
