Melanie L. Campbell Among Equal Pay Advocates to Meet with President Obama

National Coalition on Black Civic Participation President & CEO and Convener of Black Women’s Roundtable, Melanie L. Campbell was among a small group of advocates for women and girls that met with President Obama to discuss the Senate vote on the Paycheck Fairness Act and the Administration’s ongoing efforts to promote equality and economic security for American women and their families. The women assembled for the meeting were leaders in the fight for equal rights for women including Lilly Ledbetter. Senior women from the Administration in attendance included, Valerie Jarett, Senior Advisor to the President and Chair of the White House Council on Women and Girls; Melody Barnes, the Director of the Domestic Policy Council; and Tina Tchen, Director of the Office of Public Engagement and Executive Director of the White House Council on Women and Girls.
