Fulton County DA Fani Willis Checks Jim Jordan for Attempt to Interfere with her Prosecution of Donald Trump
In a 9-page letter, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis sharply rebuked Congressman Jim Jordan’s attempt to interfere with her ongoing criminal prosecution of Donald Trump and 18 other co-defendants. On August 14, 2023, Jim Jordan sent a letter to DA Willis outlining several issues he had with the prosecution. Willis’ letter, submitted in response today, is separated into two sections. The first section argues that Congress has no constitutional authority to regulate her investigation as it is a purely state matter.
First, Willis argues that Jordan’s attempted interference is a violation of Georgia’s state sovereignty as the federal government does not have power to regulate purely state matters.
