Whoopi Goldberg Honors 7-Year Old Atlanta Author, Nicholas Buamah
ATLANTA — This year has started off on an absolute high for Nicholas Buamah, a young author who just turned 8-years old on February 17th. First, he had a sold-out book signing event at Barnes & Nobles, then BuzzFeed listed him at #5 on their list of “9 Moments In Black Excellence” along with #3 President Obama and #4 Beyonce (The Carters). What could be better than all this? Maybe receiving a call from the ABC Network saying that Whoopi Goldberg would like to honor Nicholas on her show, The View, for Black History Month.
“That was an exciting moment for all of us,” said Nicholas’ mother, Danielle. “I admire Whoopi Goldberg so much and to have her celebrate my son for Black History Month was an honor in itself.”
Nicholas’ book, Kayla & Kyle The Walking Dictionaries, which was created to help kids expand on their vocabulary, has gone on to become a #1 Bestseller on Amazon and has garnered many schools and libraries to contact the young author about setting up author visits at their locations all over the country.
When asked the question, “What is the most exciting part of all out of your new-found publicity?”, the young author’s response was, “Being able to visit all the different cities and share my book with all my friends.” Nicholas also mentioned that he will be making a guest appearance at the Wilmington District Library in Wilmington Delaware, April 16th, and from there he will travel to Washington DC to visit the Library Of Congress where his book is now cataloged.
In the upcoming month Nicholas will be debuting his YouTube channel where he will teach families vocabulary and word definitions. This is only the beginning for this young entrepreneur.
