Stand Up For Standing Rock! Vote for #NoDAPL Movement to Win a MTV Video Music Award
The peaceful movement of water protectors at Standing Rock to oppose the Dakota Access Pipeline is the most successful and biggest Native American movement this country has ever seen. We are proud that this year MTV is recognizing the power of this movement and has nominated the song “Stand Up / Stand N Rock” for Best Fight Against the System video. You can vote for it to win right now.
Trump green-lit the pipeline when he came into office, but the fight is not over. In June a federal judge ruled that the Army Corps of Engineers violated the law when they approved the pipeline. The fight is being waged in the courts, and it is our job to keep the energy, spirit, and message of the #NoDAPL movement front and center.
And so we celebrate the nomination of the #NoDAPL music video we helped release for a 2017 MTV Video Music Award! This nomination is a huge honor and incredible opportunity to broadcast the important message of protecting our planet and the rights of native peoples to millions of people watching the award show later this month. Our team at Hip Hop Caucus is making a final push to help the video win. We hope you will vote and join us in spreading the word. Vote now and everyday until August 17 to help us make this video win.
