Inspired Mobility: Hip-Hop Pioneer “Rev Run” To Share The Latest In Faith & Tech
Dallas, TX – Legendary rapper and preacher Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons is no stranger to sharing his faith through mobile technology. Today, he joins AT&T’s Inspired Mobility™ conversation to share the latest ways mobility helps him inspire millions of fans.
Rev Run was a founding member and front man of hip-hop’s legendary group RUN DMC. He’s also well-known for his hit reality show “Run’s House” where he coined “Rev Run’s Words of Wisdom.” Each show explored life with his family and ended with an inspirational tweet or text.
Starting tomorrow, you’ll hear Rev Run on hip-hop, urban, gospel and other radio stations across the country as a part of the Inspired Mobility conversation. Rev Run will appear on even more stations on Nov. 17.
“I’m linking up with AT&T to continue what I’ve enjoyed doing for years,” Rev Run said. “Inspired Mobility is more than sharing motivational messages online. It’s about connecting and empowering people in a digital world.”
In a recent survey1 sponsored by AT&T*, 4-in-10 (41%) respondents said they use a mobile phone, tablet or laptop to connect to faith-based organizations or inspiration sites. The survey also showed that 72% of those who use mobility to connect with their faith report using social media. Facebook and YouTube were the most popular channels. More than 40% of respondents said they use their devices to listen or download inspirational music.
Also on Nov. 17, Rev Run will meet fans at an AT&T retail store in New York City to promote the Inspired Mobility conversation. His partnership helps build awareness for national Social Media Sunday on Nov. 22.
Other Inspired Mobility activities include a Google Hangout on Oct. 23 with film producer, DeVon Franklin and social media expert, James Andrews.
