Ruby Penelope Campbell Pulliam, long-time events manager for the Washington, DC based National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, passed away on Sunday November 20, 2011 am at Kindred Hospital in Melbourne, Florida and will be put to rest held Friday, November 25, 2011, 12 noon, at Saint James A.M.E. Church, 625 Dummitt Avenue Titusville, FL 32796.

Remembered for her catch-phrase, “Love You More,” the beloved daughter, sister, wife and friend lived her life with joy and purpose – to love and care for family and people in general. Ruby lived and left this world clear on what matters most in life and had her priorities straight – God, family, friends, then work. Ruby was compassionate, sensitive, outspoken, and had a “keep it real” approach that was appreciated by all.

Ruby was born on December 1, 1958 in Titusville, Florida to the late Isaac Campbell, Sr. and Janet S. Campbell. She served as the events manager, health & wellness director for the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation and organized the organization’s annual Spirit of Democracy Awards Celebration honoring dignitaries from all the United States and abroad.

Over the past two decades Ruby helped to manage a host of events across the country including: Black Women’s Roundtable (BWR) “Healthy, Wealthy, Wise” National Empowerment Tour, BWR “Whispering Out Loud” Tour to support survivors of Katrina-Rita in the Gulf Coast Region, SCLC/W.O.M.E.N’s, Drum Major for Justice Awards, and the official Martin Luther King March in Atlanta, GA. She also spent over 20 years working in the private sector in Atlanta, Georgia and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The graduate of Fort Lauderdale School of Interior Design was a member of the NCBCP Black Women’s Roundtable, S.C.L.C. W.O.M.E.N., The Martin Luther King March & African/African American Heritage Committee and past board member of the Allen Public Library in Allen, Texas.
