Helping HBCU’s Move Students To and Through College is the Focus of the UNCF Institute for Capacity Building Conference in Atlanta this Week

Atlanta, GA – This week, November 8 – 11, 2011, The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Institute for Capacity Building will host Partnerships for Transformation: Moving Students To and Through College allowing leaders from Black colleges throughout the nation to share best practices for moving students to and through college. The goal is to help strengthen Historically Black Colleges and other minority-serving institutions and ensure that they have the capacity to serve more college-bound students and prepare those students to build careers and become active citizens of their communities. The three-day event will feature a town hall meeting, panels and workshops which are classified in tracks: Curriculum and Faculty Enhancement, Enrollment Management, Executive Leadership and Governance, Institutional Advancement, Fiscal and Strategic Technical Assistance, and Building Green. Luncheons and dinners will feature keynote speakers and interactive, live audience surveys with real-time results.

This town hall meeting will focus on opportunities and strategies for minority higher education advocacy around tight budgets and diminishing resources. The panel will discuss how recent policy and budget recommendations impact minority education.
