Washington, DC – Black women are potentially the single most powerful voting block in the upcoming election. According to Pew Research Center, among all racial, ethnic and gender groups, Black women had the highest voter turnout rate in the 2008 presidential election. Determined to leverage the collective political power of Black women, The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation’s Black Women’s Roundtable and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation will bring together some of the most powerful Black women from business, labor, nonprofit, clergy, media, and entertainment for their 3rd Annual Public Policy Forum. The Power of the Sister Vote 2012 Forum will highlight the critical role Black women play in the election and unveil the policy priorities of women of the Black Diaspora going forward.
