Meek says Charlie Crist tried to get him to drop out of Senate race

CNN reports that Florida Senate hopeful, Kendrick Meek said that it was Florida Gov. Charlie Crist not former President Clinton that tried to talk him into dropping out of the Senate race. I am terribly confused. Crist is a former Republican running as an Independent; what does he have to do with Meek? Kendrick Meek is the Democratic nominee. Why shouldn’t Crist consider quitting? With the midterm election less than a week away things are getting very messy!

Meek spoke today on CNN’s American Morning

(CNN) — “He never asked me to get out of the race. I never told him I was getting out of the race,” Meek said, referring to Clinton. “Governor Crist talked to me about getting out of the race. I recommend to the governor that he should consider getting out of the race.”
The allegations bubbled up Thursday when Crist, the Republican-turned-independent Senate candidate, said he spoke with Meek and “several people” at the White House about having Meek step out of the race. Read the full story and watch the video at CNN.com.
