College Park, MD – BDPA Education and Technology Foundation (BETF) and the Consortium for Enterprise Systems Management (CESM) are proud to announce the first annual CESM Scholarship for BDPA Students. One rising high school senior will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship to pursue a college degree focused on information technology.
The CESM Scholar will be awarded a one-time $2,000 scholarship that may be used at an accredited four-year college or university of their choice located in South Carolina or North Carolina. Students may use the scholarship to cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, room and board, and other college-related expenses.
Applicants must excel academically, show exceptional leadership potential, and make an impact on their communities through service to others. Applicants need to (a) be from South Carolina or North Carolina or (b) attend a college in either of these two states.
Scholarship winners will be selected based on the application, essay, and letters of recommendation. The deadline is September 30, 2010.
“I am excited about our partnership with CESM on this scholarship,” says BETF executive director Wayne Hicks. “We hope to continue to impact on the advancement of our students into science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) related careers … and getting a degree in information technology is one way to get it done.”
Details on the scholarship can be found on either the BETF website () or CESM website (). Teachers, coaches and parents are asked to mention the availability of the scholarship to potential student recipients. Entries for 2010 are due by September 30th.
